Legacy System Modernization

We successfully support Fortune 500 companies struggling with the difficulties created by a merger or acquisition. Low risk solutions and deliberate implementation is required for refreshing, modernizing, and consolidating legacy systems.  Our experience and expertise supporting these complex projects for more than 20 years is the foundation for our legacy system modernization practice.  Provided below is a brief description of our service offerings in this area:

Legacy System Modernization.  We understand that far too often adequate documentation does not exist for legacy systems and critical system and business knowledge resides with a few individuals. Given this challenge, our methodology places a significant emphasis on requirements gathering to include capturing both the legacy system and the new system requirements. Once adequate requirements are captured, we execute our CMMI-based systems development life-cycle to design, develop, test and implement modern systems and phase out legacy applications.

Enterprise Architecture (EA).  AEM system architects work with customers to develop EA Blueprints for transforming their IT to better support the mission of their organization. We first assess and document the "as is" environment and then develop the target application and systems architectures, segment architectures, technical architectures, data architectures, business architectures, and performance architectures. The EA Blueprint includes a Plan of Action for achieving the "to be" architecture which includes sequencing and delivery phases using industry frameworks such as the Federal Enterprise Architecture (FEA).

Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA).  We work with clients to develop a SOA Blueprint that yields a solutions approach that is designed to meet business objectives incrementally through a series of technology building blocks. The SOA Blueprint includes reference architectures and a Plan of Action which guides our customers through successive delivery phases in their SOA maturity based on their SOA Blueprint definition.
